Three of Senator Kavanagh’s bills passed in 2023 and were signed into law by Governor Hobbs
In the 2023 session, Senator Kavanagh sponsored nine animal protection bills, three of which were passed and signed by Governor Hobbs. Thanks to his efforts, $550,000 will be used to fund crucial spay and neuter surgeries statewide. This funding helps homeless pets, shelters, and entire communities. He also sponsored the new law requiring ambulance companies to treat and transport injured police dogs to vet clinics, and legislation that creates a study committee to address concerns of animal shelters throughout Arizona.
